In this episode Bob & Kevin discuss the recent troubles with YouTube and content geared towards children and the violation of child data privacy rights. We also discussed how the various social media platforms each have their unique rule sets and personalities.
We also tackled the apparent flooding of social media with Jeffery Epstein memes and how they are influencing public opinion and speculate what (or who) may be driving this agenda.

Bob & Kevin continue their crusade against sketchy tech practices and in this episode discuss how the U.S. Government is taking issue with Tik Tok because it is an app developed out of China and it might be stealing our data... but apparently Facebook, Google and the like are just fine, because the government can actually request any of their data - or so Edward Snowden says!
We talk about some other tech stuff too. Hey, as always, reach out to us at https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow and let us know what you like, what you don't like, or what you want to hear us discuss more of.
Thanks for listening!

In this episode Bob & Kevin break down the recent House Financial Services Committee hearing with Mr. Zuckerberg defending his pending crypto currency, Libra and the digital wallet service for said crypto coin, Calibra. We thought he hearings were both informative and entertaining with plenty of content to make fun of!
Speaking of making fun of stuff... feel free to make fun of Bob for his HUGE technical mess up with his microphone. In the open you can even get more detail on how funny the opening exchanges of the podcast actually are :)
As always... hit us up on the tweeters - https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow [but don't complain about Bob's mic -- really ;) ] and let us know what you like or don't like about the show or let us know what tech related topic you would like to hear us discuss next.

Well, since everyone on the planet appears to be talking about Edward Snowden, we thought it was time that we weighed in. Bob & Kevin both recently listened to Mr. Snowden as a rare, remote guest on the Joe Rogan Experience (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efs3QRr8LWw) so we had to talk about the episode and a bunch around mass surveillance, our darn cell phones and how facebook just ruins everything for all of us!
We also discussed how the US government is basically in a "no lose" situation with Snowden and that Ed is basically in a "no win".
Of course, we discussed the area in the Snowden interview where he brought up aliens... and we had thoughts!
Feel free to message us on twitter (https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow) and let us know what you thought of this episode!

Yup, we did a retrospective on our 50 podcast episodes so far. We even talked a bit about our old YouTube channel experiences and how that led to our illustrious podcasting career... well, career in air quotes... we still have our day gigs!
We looked back at our most favorite and our least favorite episodes - let us know what you want to hear more of in our next 50! https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow

In this episode we celebrated our 50th! Sure we had about 30 or so YouTube Shows (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmOHJDCtT0THNKW49Ghxtmg) but can you believe we have recorded FIFTY podcast episodes!?!?!
We have been tackling some heavy topics lately on the show, so today we decided to talk some tech headlines and see where things took us.
We talked about the latest iteration of the Boston Dynamics Atlas robot - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlas_(robot) in addition to how the idea of the "personal brand" has evolved since we got in "the game".
We took a look at some recent press about podcast monetizing and the various options out there, plus much, much more! As always... if you want to leave us a comment, feel free to hit us up on twitter - https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow
Rumor has it, if you send us a DM, we will reach out to you with a very special gift! DO IT... DO IT NOW!

In this episode, Bob & Kevin discuss a planned neighborhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada being proposed by Alphabet (formerly Google) subsidiary, Sidewalk Labs. We discuss both the technological and non-tech innovations that are being proposed and discussed. It actually gets a little intense when Bob & Kevin discuss the application of the word 'utopia'. In addition to Quayside, we discuss new Twitter, a recent podcast from Land of the Giants (https://pca.st/V7d9) on the topic of the rise of Amazon Alexa and where the future may be. We wrap up the episode going over the list of all the companies that make up Alphabet - https://abc.xyz . We hope you enjoy and would love for you to reach out to us on https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow - let's connect!

We swear that we are not a Joe Rogan recap podcast, but this one was just too juicy to pass up for us. I mean come on... Alien technology... how can we not discuss this one! We pretty much debated the legitimacy of Bob Lazar and his amazing claims of alien technology. In addition to JRE #1315 we also referenced the documentary by Jeremy Corbell that is currently streaming on Netflix.
Anti-gravity propulsion, surfaces that turn into screens and that little machine that measures the bones in your hand - we pretty much cover it all.
We did some talk about the current season of Black Mirror, as well as, a couple of other sci-fi series. Let us know if you like what you hear or let us know what you want to hear more of - https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow

Well, we really wanted to have three topics for this episode, but wow, did we have too much fun discussing this new, and frightening crypto development around Facebook! We kicked off the episode discussing all the new smart home security tech that Kevin is putting into his new house and we fully intended to talk about podcast tech and other pods that we like and or dislike and why... but we totally got carried away discussing Libra. Take a look at one of the articles we were referencing https://techcrunch.com/2019/06/18/facebook-libra/ while listening and let us know how you think this will all play out! We also gave some quick hits on the block chain while discussing this new crypto currency - https://www.ibm.com/case-studies/large-financial-services-company

The latest episode of the Bob & Kevin Show can best be summed up by the following quote:
"I have a foreboding of an America in my children’s or grandchildren’s time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and whats true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness. The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30-second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), the lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance."

This week, your dynamic duo of Bob & Kevin discussed Mr. Z's 4 simple rules - or the biggest corporate cop out we have seen in quite some time. Anyway, we digress. In addition to discussing the op ed that appeared in the Washington Post, we discussed the recent events surround Article 13, or is it now Article 17? Anyway, we talk master copyright databases mixed in with a little bit of Star Trek governmental wisdom and we finally end up talking about Google's ethics committee for AI that apparently can't even sit at the same table with each other. As usual, you can find us on twitter as the @bobandkevinshow and we are instagram as @bobnkevinshow (not sure why they limit those characters... grrr) - drop us a line! You can also email the show directly at [email protected]. Thanks!

Join your favorite technology consumer advocates Bob & Kevin as they discuss Facebook giving us a real-time, Black Mirror prequel. Bob & Kevin also take a deep look at the "new monopoly" in tech, which is basically coming up with the most ubiquitous platform imaginable... hardware, software, original content... you know, what Apple is trying to become with the release of their fill in the blank plus original content platform. Oh, wow, guess what, this is also straight out of a potential Black Mirror prequel... have you seen 'Nosedive'? or watched our YouTube episode - https://youtu.be/wX-_GNGZXG8 ?

This week might be one of our darkest episodes - at least early on. Bob & Kevin discuss the difficult subject of software and the recent Boeing tragedies. Unfortunately, the darkness carried on a bit when we discussed the responsibilities of tech/social giants like YouTube and Facebook in the wake of the New Zealand tragedy.
On an odd turn of events, we were able to look toward TWITTER to lighten the mood of the episode... all we can say is MOOOOOO! We closed things out with discussions around the recent Facebook outage and if we should have the rights to repair our super expensive cell phones.
We covered a lot, but we had some fun. Let us know if you liked what you heard! Hit us up at https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow

Well, in this week's episode, Bob & Kevin kick things off discussing a recent Joe Rogan Experience podcast episode with Jack Dorsey, Vijaya Gadde & Tim Pool because, well, it was an amazing cast on an amazing show. The funny thing is, when we listen to shows like that, we get a TON of validation of our topics for discussion. At about the midway point... we actually broke into the INTENDED topic for the show - encryption backdoors... and the ethics of such things!
The conversation was kicked off by a published paper that Kevin found online and our on-going debate about tech and ethical choices. The paper can be found here: https://digitalcommons.spu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=https://www.google.com/&httpsredir=1&article=1062&context=honorsprojects and the discussion is in the audio file attached with this episode... so what are you waiting for? Hit the play button already!

So, apparently Apple doesn't like episode numbers in titles any more... a topic for another episode for sure. In this non-numbered episode (sure we will play the game), Bob & Kevin switch roles and come up with some of the best audio quality to date (what took us so long?). Kevin drives the conversation with some difficult questions for angry Bob to deal with. Oh and we send out a call for interns - wanna work with two crazy old dudes that hate the idea of folding screen phones? Then you need to intern with the B&K Show! Hit us up on our tweeters, yo! https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow

Well, it has been a minute, as the kids say, but Bob & Kevin are back at it with a fun new episode where we discuss about the control of truth, various conspiracies and how social media contributes. We discuss the roles that big social play in the spread of mis- and dis-information and the potential personal implications of our own social media accounts in the process!

Oh, boy... naming this episode was so TOUGH! We had quite a few discussions that contained some very interesting analogies and comparisons... so name options were abundant! Long time followers of the program will know that this is typically the time of year where we cover the CES show, and we did not stray from that topic this week. We discussed how some of the new tech is not all that new (big shock) about 4k and now 8k video (ugh) and how the XPS laptop camera is finally where all the other webcams of the world are positioned on laptops. Oh, and you know we rip on facebook, google, amazon and the other tech giants. We also discuss this new piece of exercise gear - https://www.mirror.co/

I wish we could say we were sorry for the click bait, but one of the topics we covered tonight was the dropdown menu for gender. You will have to listen to the episode to hear how we covered it, but trust us... it is something worthy of discussion. We also discussed how our combined journalistic talents are on par with the rest of the world of tech news, in our humble opinions... LOL
As always, give it a listen and let us know what you think! Until next week...
October 31, 2018
We jump back into it this week after both of us have been crazy at work, traveling all over, and just dealing with everything that life has been throwing at the two of us the past couple of weeks. Don't worry, we still talk about twitter and facebook... we even discuss the new facebook video calling thingy??? What the heck is that all about anyway. Not gonna lie, we are both a little out of practice and we even forgot to really start AND end the episode... so, we hope you enjoy this completely raw and barely edited, very special episode. As always, feel free to hit us up on twitter (https://twitter.com/bobandkevinshow) and let us know what you think of the episode. Have a great week!

This episode could be title true confessions of a remote worker... but we thought that was a bit too click bait-ish... who are we kidding... We just thought of it as we were uploading the episode and the artwork was already done! Anyway, in this episode, our two courageous hosts give us a glimpse into the real life struggles of remote work in the 21st century. Frightening tales of killer chairs, bare feet, shower schedules and so much more. We really enjoyed this episode, because it is just another shining example of how two close friends can be completely different human beings.
September 5, 2018
Yup, we talked about browsers tonight... something along the lines of browser wars version 3.0. Apparently firefox is coming out with a new version that blocks all tracking out of the box... then we find out that a browser called Brave also already does this out of the box! Kevin talked about a chrome plugin that lets you pick which scripts to block and Bob worried about what all this new browser stuff will do to his robust event tracking in google analytics. We also talked a bit about the social media hearings on the Hill today and what this all means for the future of truth in our worlds... tune in and let us know what you think!
August 30, 2018
We had so much fun with this episode! We discussed everything from Dependency Injection, to the Surfacebook 2 and pretty much everything in between. If you are interested in learning Bob's & Kevin's thoughts on many current TV shows and more, this is the episode for you! We talk Westworld, House of Cards, Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley. As usual, please let us know what you want to hear more of, or less of... and be sure to rate us on Apple Podcasts if you can... Thanks!
